R&D EXPERT
SD Biotechnologies established the Central R&D Center for Skin Science Research on September 1, 2015 to begin full-scale R&D activities. At present, it has been reorganized as an R&D Headquarters where we are pressing forward with our R&D work.
So far, we have received approximately 11 billion KRW in subsidies by conducting 10 government projects, through which we have secured source technology and developed functional food and cosmetics materials.
As a result, more than 55 domestic and international patent applications and registrations were made, more than 18 papers related to dermatology were published in first-class international journals, and more than 15 new ingredients were registered in the International Cosmetic Ingredient Dictionary and Handbook (ICID). As of 2021, we are conducting two cases of human application testing to have the items recognized as individually approved functional food ingredients, and we are preparing two applications for certification of functional cosmetics items outside of the public notice.
With the belief that continuous R&D investment is the cornerstone of long-term growth and development, we are committed to investing in human resources and facilities in the R&D sector.

Developed World's First Antiaging Evaluation Technology for Skin
Thanks to our know-how and research accumulated over extended periods of time, the SD Biotechnologies R&D Center has developed the world's first anti-aging evaluation technology for skin (applying NFAT mechanism). We have discovered a large number of new ingredients that help delay the aging of the skin based on this technology, allowing us to provide our customers with highly reliable products.

Developed Korea's First Gold Nano Technology That Enhances Skin Absorption
SD Biotechnologies is focusing on developing raw materials by applying nano-bio fusion technology, targeting the global market.
For the first time in Korea, the nano-bio fusion technology from SD Biotechnologies has emerged as the next generation of nanotechnology that fuses gold nanoparticles with natural materials to enhance skin absorption and efficacy.
